Sage Intacct in 2026: who it fits and where it stops
An 83/100 from Audit Friendly, and the buying decision really comes down to one question: is your problem finance or operations?
Sage Intacct is best understood as best-in-class cloud financials rather than a full ERP, and that distinction is the whole buying decision. The Audit Friendly review of Sage Intacct scores it 83/100 and the core reason is the dimensional general ledger: instead of encoding location, department, project, fund, and program into a sprawling chart of accounts, you tag transactions with dimensions and slice reporting afterward. That architecture is why multi-entity services firms, SaaS companies, and nonprofits consistently rate its reporting and monthly close above heavier platforms.
BY THE NUMBERS

The product fits a specific band: multi-entity, services-heavy or nonprofit organizations of roughly 50 to 1,000 employees that have outgrown QuickBooks, need consolidated multi-currency close and dimensional reporting, and do not need inventory or manufacturing depth. The archetypes are a multi-entity group wanting continuous consolidation with automatic intercompany entries, a professional services firm needing project profitability tied to the general ledger, a SaaS business requiring ASC 606-compliant revenue recognition, and a nonprofit with fund and grant tracking as native concepts. Distributors, manufacturers, and small single-entity businesses are better served elsewhere.
Pricing is quote-only and assembled from three inputs: user type, modules enabled beyond core financials, and legal entity count - one entity is included and each additional entity is charged separately. Third parties report roughly $25,000 to $75,000 per year for typical mid-market deployments, above $100,000 once multi-entity consolidation and revenue recognition are layered on, and per-user benchmarks of roughly $400 to $800 per user per month. Partners commonly cite 2 to 3 months for a finance-focused build, against 3 to 6 months for a comparable NetSuite project.
Two go-live watchouts matter most. Dimension design: the general ledger only pays off if location, department, project, fund, and custom dimensions are modeled against the reports you will actually need - get this wrong and you are retrofitting it later. Module scope creep: core financials price attractively, but consolidation, project accounting, revenue recognition, and fixed assets are each licensed on top, so price the full target-state stack before signing. On agent readiness, Sage launched the Intacct AI Gateway at its Sage Future for Partners event on 4 to 5 November 2025 and made its Finance Intelligence Agent available to early adopters in the US and UK as of December 2025. The infrastructure is early, and the REST API itself only reached general availability in 2025 Release 1.

QUESTIONS THIS ANSWERS
Sage Intacct or NetSuite: how do we actually decide?
Decide on whether your problem is finance or operations. If you are consolidating entities, reporting by dimension, recognizing revenue, and closing the books, Intacct is usually the better and cheaper fit, commonly reported at roughly half to two thirds of NetSuite's annual software cost with a 2 to 3 month implementation against 3 to 6 months. If you carry inventory, run warehouses, assemble or manufacture product, or want CRM and ecommerce in the same system, NetSuite is the stronger platform and Intacct will force you into a second system. Buying Intacct and hoping to grow into operations...
How much does Sage Intacct really cost per year?
There is no published price list, so every figure is third party. Third parties report roughly 25,000 to 75,000 dollars per year for typical mid-market deployments and above 100,000 dollars once multi-entity consolidation and revenue recognition are added, with a per user benchmark of roughly 400 to 800 dollars per user per month and add-on modules commonly cited at 3,000 to 10,000 dollars per module per year (reported and estimated). Pricing is assembled from user counts, enabled modules, and legal entity count, with one entity included and each additional entity charged separately, so model...
Does Sage Intacct handle inventory and manufacturing?
Partly, and this is its most important limitation. It has order entry, purchasing, and inventory modules that work for light stock tracking, but it is not built for multi-location warehouse management, advanced distribution, work orders, assemblies, or demand planning. Companies that move physical product at any real complexity either integrate a dedicated operations or warehouse system alongside Intacct, or choose NetSuite instead.
